I flew from Sydney to Alice Springs to Cairns and worked my way down by bus to Brisbane. Ended up going to the White Sundays Islands to sail and Fraser Island (both kinda near Townsville) for a three-day, two-night jeep safari tour.

The "luxury" boat that forty people and I sailed on for three days and two nights in the White Sundays Islands. Had never sailed in my life. He who eats the fastest get the mostest.

One of my traveling friends thought it would be funny to get a photo of me in the morning since I look like an such an angel (Right!). Ha!!!! Bad luck as saw you a commin, Angie!!! Got the best spot in the house.....oopps, I mean ....boat because everyone else was claustrophobic.

I then took the over-night bus south (think it was 10 hours.....slept the whole way) to Fraser Island, a national park. It is about 100k long if I remember right (but not near that wide).

The crew on the Fraser Island three-day, two-night camping trip. Got to know these people really well. An Irish couple, four Germans, two from the Czech Republic, and me, the only American (not everyone pictured here).

Just a photo to make any fellow Minnesotans jealous. Hehehehehehehe! We mostly drove along the beach (those dots are people).

Legally, every time you go through one of these wash-outs someone in the car is supposed to get out and check the depth. Never saw anyone do this the whole time on the Island. This wash-out is the only fresh water stream on the island which we used for drinking water as it wasn't polluted. That's our jeep on the right after blowing a tire.

The first night, we camped next to a sand dune with another group. Built a fire to stay warm and cooked supper (tea) using a portable gas stove. All our supplies (including food) was included in the package.  The second night was here in Central station, once used long ago by loggers. Both nights we used these tents and the coolers are in the cages so dingos (wild dogs) don't get a free meal off us. In each tent slept five people. To the right was the luxury of running water!!!

This sign is motivation for the pilots in Minnesota (Hint: Bryce, Brook) to get to OZ. The airplanes would land on the beach between the water and the jeeps on the island (the beach is the only flat surface to land on in the whole island). The pilots didn't wait for any jeeps to move so one person of our group was designated the plane person to avoid any life-ending surprises.

Me on top of a flippin huge sand dune!! For the record I BEAT James up this dune. Hahahahah! :)
